About Us
At Bogovčič Restoration Studio, we breathe new life into damaged and endangered works of art, valuing the trust our clients place in us.
As a family enterprise, we combine tradition with expertise under the leadership of Ivan Bogovčič, MA, senior conservator-restorer, and Luka Bogovčič, company director and studio head. With our highly skilled team, we carry out meticulous restoration work. We specialise in restoring wall paintings, altarpieces and wooden sculptures, canvas and panel paintings, historical facades, and mosaics.
A family enterprise
With over 60 years of experience and numerous awards, including two lifetime achievement awards for Ivan Bogovčič, MA in art conservation, we are committed to excellence in preserving cultural heritage.

Luka Bogovčič

His dedication has been recognized internationally and he has presented restoration projects in Italy twice before leading professionals from across Europe, from whom he has in turn learnt about conservation and restoration efforts in Italy.
He has also received the Slovenia Nostra Award for contributions to preserving Slovenian cultural heritage.

The head of conservation Ivan Bogovčič, MA
has been active in restoration since 1961 and professionally since 1970, collaborating with Luka Bogovčič since 1990. Most of the projects involve additional experts, including academic restorers and specialists in various fields.
Ivan Bogovčič has been awarded numerous honors, including the Yugoslav plaque for monument protection, two Stele Awards, and the Stele Lifetime Achievement Award, conferred by the Association of Conservators of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia. An honorary member of the Slovenian Society for Conservation-Restoration since 2010, he won its lifetime achievement award in 2021. He is also a freeman of the city of Brežice.

Tanja Jamnik
